You have to get through the sheep first!

This is one of my two tattoos. It is the Heart of Hope. It's a celtic design I found years ago at I-can't-remember-where. It's my favourite tattoo. My other one is a guitar which I got when I was seventeen.
But the Heart of Hope has meaning, I got it just over four years ago. I was looking to my future, planning our wedding, building a life together with Steve.
I so want another tattoo and I've had the design planned for well over two years, I just have to decide where about I want it!

Due to the weather here recently we've had a series of mini powercuts.
You don't realise what uses electricity until you don't have any! The shower, washing machine, iron, hoover, not to mention the television and internet.
So what did I do? Took pictures of Henrick of course!

We have a little stream running past our house, we've lived here 7 months and I've failed to mention it. The deer come down from the mountain to drink from it and it runs into the loch infront of our house.
It's lovely and peaceful hearing the water trickle down over the rocks and watching fallen leaves being carried away. It's even better when the sun shines!

We've recently discovered that our little cottage is actually a croft.
Crofts are fairly common in Scotland due to the law coming into effect after the Highland Clearances.
The land our house is built on was given as a generous gift from the landowner to the tenant, who then built our cottage.
Our home was once a holiday cottage and we were given the guestbook when we moved in, as a keepsake. Lots of people wrote some lovely things about our home and the surrounding countryside.

This little byre is situated directly infront of our house, next to the big green barn.
It is awfully sad looking and very overgrown. It houses some old gates and pieces of wood.
One day I'd like to own it, restore it and make it happy again.

We have very kindly been given some tomato plant seelings to grow our very own tomato plants.
I'm not a huge fan of tomatos, I love tomato puree, especially on pizza but I cannot eat whole tomatoes. Steve, on the other hand, can eat them by the bucket load!

That's right, I've had my Valentine's present stolen! And yes, we live in the middle of nowhere!
It happened last night, it's a huge blow as we thought being here, on our mountain, was quite safe.
The Police are looking into it and we can claim it on our insurance but it has made us feel a little uneasy. It's times like these I wish we had a dog.

Can you believe it's May already? This year has flown by.
We had a great sunny weekend with friends, a BBQ and lunching out in Oban.
I thought I'd give you an update on the lambs today as they are getting so big.
Here is a photo I took this morning as they all crowded around for a nosey.
Just look at those ears!
